Vizio 42″ plasma reviewed by Fox News
22 Feb 2007
Vizio 42″ plasma HDTV was reviewed by FoxNews:
Other than a couple of quibbles about its handling of standard-definition video and about some undocumented advanced picture controls, the VP42 turned in a solid widescreen viewing experience without sacrificing important video-connection options or ease of use. The VP42 HDTV weighs nearly 90 pounds, and Vizio wisely recommends that at least two people tackle the task of unpacking and hefting it onto its new perch. Including its factory-attached base stand, the VP42 measures a full 44.3 by 29.8 by 11.4 inches.

42″ Panasonic plasma for $999 @JR.com
02 Nov 2006
JR.com currently sells Panasonic TH42PD60U 42″ Plasma Television for $999. This is EDTV, not HDTV (what the heck is the difference?) As an EDTV with an 852×480 screen resolution, this 42″ (diagonal) magnificent widescreen TV delivers optimal performance of all currently available TV shows and DVD recordings. It has both NTSC Analog and ATSC Digital TV tuners. When used with an Optional HDTV antenna, the ATSC tuner can receive free over-the-air widescreen HDTV shows. The plasma display is incapable of presenting those images at 720p or 1080i resolutions. In addition to A/V, S-Video and Component-Video connectors, this set also has an HDMI port. An HDMI connector accepts high-quality digital video and Audio via the same thin cable, allowing you to run one cable from the source to the TV.
